SB 7/2H/P29 On Saturday last week, the school organised a show performed by a number of different clubs. The event took place in the auditorium and in the playground. There were clubs of sport, like basketball, volleyball, football and culture clubs like chorus, photography, etc. The show was attendant by the teachers and some students. The visitors were very excited and wanted to see each club. In my view, the show was fun and we were able to play in each club with our friends. The show would have been better if there had been food and drink, and if it had been in the morning so that the weather was fresh.   WB 6/2H/P25 Last Friday was the first meeting of the basketball club. This is a new club which I have organized with other students from my school. We met on the playground after school. Twenty-five students came to the club. There were more boys than girls. We started with a presentation of the club and then we had the warm up, then I told them about th...

The story of my grandfather

Written by: Kelly Claire Moreno García In 1951, United States of America was the country as the Operation Faust started, 5 bangs because the bombers were going to develop a nuclear weapon. That was the year that Rufino Moreno was born in the Town of Zolotpec, he is my grandfather and I admire him for somethings. First, he told me that when he was an infant was the best in his class, but he could not finish the elementary scholl because his parents hadn´t had money to buy him even a pencil to continue his schoolarity. Second, when he was an infant as well he got his first job as a farmer, the most important thing is that when he was in his teen, he was the first person who worked in Mexico City from my city, in this moment he felt in love, when my parents met the, so they got married and became parents. While he was working in Veracruz, he became father from his first daughter, and in next years he became a grandfather. He is 70 years old and he still work, because he is a very har...

Written by: Alejandra González In 1942, Mexico army was fighting in Germany because they had sunk Mexican oil tankers, and Mexico signed the first trade agreement with the United States containing the most favored nation clause for Mexico. That was the year that my grandfather was born more specifically on November 15th in the village The Oro, his name was Leopoldo Gutierrez Martinez, and he was a mechanic because when he was a child he loves the cars and the motorcycles. He left school when he finished primary school. His parents never loved him, so my grandfather left the Oro and arrived at Toluca when he was a teenager. When he arrived here, he stayed with his uncle and aunt but not all was perfect, he had searched for a job, so his first job was washing cars at his uncle’s friend business and so he began to earn money, he had this job until he was 20.   When he was 21 years old, he met my grandmother, and they fall in love at the same time. In 1962 they married, and they ...

Written by: Alejandra Aguilar Flores In 1932, the president of Mexico Pascual Ortiz Rubio resigned his position and there was a financial fall with a loss of 14% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). That was the year that my grandmother Elvia Gonzalez was born in Toluca, Mexico. She lived with her parents and her five siblings. She liked to do housework and she usually went to church. My grandmother is a relieved person, but she likes to be with her family and talk with them. She lived for a time in the State of Mexico with her aunt. Her aunt was an entrepreneur and my grandmother helped her at her store. After one year, she returned to her parents and helped them with the housework. She also worked in a tablecloth factory at 17 because her father had an accident and lost his arm. In 1960, at the age of 28, she married Armando Flores and they had 7 children. After she got married, she moved to Capultitlan and she still lives there with her husband.
